Refining galactonite (with upgraded galaconite)

Is there advantage from refining upgraded galactonite?

I would say, there is no advantage because you will loose 20% of the galactonite energy used.

I did a test.
Using a level 11 R1 galactonite, which requires 63582 galactonite energy to make it level 11.
I put it on the left side to refine.
After refining to 100%, i then refine it to a R2 galaconite, i got back 50866 galactonite energy.

Then i did a second test.
Using a level 11 R1 galactonite, which requires 63582 galactonite energy to make it level 11.
I put it on the right side to salvage.
It salvage 50866 galactonite energy back.

This means, either way, you loose 20% of the galactonite energy used to upgrade the galactonite
