    Funny Annie or The New Pain to Choose the Lieutenants

    Boooom!!! Today tap4fun added a Lieutenant skill to Annie the cute wallflower Rover never been good enough for the main fleet. And what a skill!

    Properly augmented and attached to a commander with accu refill she is now capable of unhiding the full opposing fleet every turn. Time to say "Goodbye Raksha!".

    One nice thing on the part of tap4fun is that they did not release a brand-new expensive commander but improved an old one. At least if you are a good customer and buy most commanders just for a little speed boost this will not cost you so much money.

    I augmented Annie to +7 and recorded a first battle video with her (2 times the same battle):



    The effect of Annie is clearly visible although the implementation is a bit weird. This is what happens:
    1. First of all the commander with Annie needs to have at least 70 Accu and a target (so you cannot uncover a single hidden Rick).
    2. The main commander targets its target.
    3. Then Annie unhides hidden commanders.
    4. Then the main commander fires without adjusting target according to regular targeting rules. (So even if after unhiding a target is in main commanders column he might hit a different column and row - the one from the initial targeting.)


    One consequence of improving Annie is that you now have several really valuable lieutenants and choices are becoming quite tough:
    • Krill
    • Knous
    • Herbert
    • Annie
    • Mileena
    • Kit
    • ...


    Herbert and Annie are set now I think, but then you have to balance various options imho. Strong Flagships benefit a lot from Mileena or Krill, Kit is the tool against Aldebaran, Knous' debuff is very useful but you need a accu refiller for him and many commanders have strong debuffs in their special anyways (Richard, Nicholas, Murometz, ...).

    It would be great if we could save Lieutenants with formations...

    What are your impressions about Annie? Do you plan to get/use her? What Lieutenants are you using?

    Definietly an interesting view and thanks for summarizing and explaining the lt skills. It’s really good info. I agree that the ones who have her already will be smiling all the way, but I seriously hate the fact that Tap has made a custom of modifying existing commanders. Just recently, all of us had the chance to choose her from the free s6 commander choice pack. Before that, people could get her in various events and all of us made strategic decisions to either get her, or not to get her. Now, Tap has shifted the world upside down and made her -probably- the most wanted lt of the moment. All our recent choices for getting her/not getting her are now down the drain... One canot cteate a decent strategy anymore as Tap chnages the rules over and over again; it seems we should not just consider the existing facts for getting commanders or not, but we have to gamble on whether Tap will modify commanders to become hot and happening as well... This game is already too much of a casino as it is and these after-release changes just make it worse. For me, these kind of things just break the fun of playing this game... and it’s really a shame imho

    Milenna isn't a must have Lieutenant. in CCC i saw many people running Krill on Flagship. and if Krill isn't on Flagship then i saw very little fights when Krill was used on another ship - probably because ships are dying with one shot and krill doesn't have the time to activate.

    About Annie - everybody runs rick so Annie will be used by ALL. Her freeze of strikers feels like 100% while reveal of ships feels like 0%.
    She isn't officially released yet so maybe they will adjust the "random number generator" for her.

    Actually, she is. +7 is ok, not great, but ok. 50% freeze of enemy strikers and 60% chance to unhide. You need to get her to +13 to get her best and most won't do that. No more Muro or Hayley for 90% of the player base because usually most have Krill +7 and a +13 Muro so now you give up Muro for a LT. We'll see. I don't have any rovers out so I can augment Annie to +7 with no loss and maybe +9 with minimal chance of failure. I have enough chips for +11 but that also means removing Raksha completely and I still am short on cores and crystals. I wonder what Sona is like now:-) Or maybe have my fleet at 4 instead of 5. I could always replace Raksha with FD +7. Wished I had GL.

    Still wished they fixed Lycan first since he sucks worse than Fitz.

    It is a hard choice somehow as I have Knous (+7), Krill (+7) and actually also Hayley (+6) which I use for Primus together with Louise (+7). But I don't have Murometz as I had in end to either for for Murometz or Lycan, and for some foolish reason I went for Lycan but I am not really using him at all (not really impressed for what was announced an exclusive commander at first). As I had some Rover chips laying around and I have Annie (thanks to the World Cup event) I already bumped her up to +4 and well I guess I will just need to pull Hayley or Louise down some levels to get Annie to +7.

    I think Annie will change the metagame a lot. The decision to add the freezing for Strikers I don't understand really. This will take out Strikers from the list of useful commander classes...

    What I "fear" a bit is that tap4fun will finally bring the next commander generation with a certain immunity to effects. For more than a year we have that "Effect RES" in the commander stats. I would not be surprised if tap4fun follows the usual create a problem then sell the solution way. This would invalidate most Lieutenants and create a pressure to invest in both - new commanders with immunity and new lieutenants with useful effects. Knous, Annie, Kit, Jackie would be useless then. Herbert, Krill, Mileena would still work I guess.

    If nothing changes dramatically I will bring Muro for Raksha next Augmentation Black Market with failsafe Augmentations. So luckily I opted against Lycan (but to be honest that is justified by the fact that Lycan had no League of Heroes speed boost).

    As long as we have hiders around I think the long-term augmentation target for Annie is +11. This will still cost 2 higher augmentation levels on a main fleet commander.

    Well they did change that in matter of day to add him to the League of Heroes, but what annoys me is that they had a real full month during which World Cup Event went on to make sure Lycan was something worth to have and they completely screwed that up. Well we will see how it goes but I fear that you will be right Nachteule.

    No, no, no , no. Tap was about as incompetent in those months than Elon Musk will ever be. Remember the WC event was supposed to be Iron Wolf. All through the month it was Iron Wolf with all of us trying to guess what he was going to be and most of us was thinking destroyer. So right in the middle of the event after the packs are locked down, Tap unveils Jaina, a new s6 destroyer, thereby screwing up Iron Wolf. Probably some dumb ass product manager wanted their 15 minutes of fame and made the bone headed mistake of dropping a new commander in the middle of the biggest event Tap put on since the last anniversary event. At the end, we ended up with Lycan, who from appearances was Tap's desperate attempt changing him from a destroyer to a striker. You can tell that he was slapped together in an evening.

    Since January, Tap has been a comedy of errors, from months-long exploits, to Rick, to how they handle Rick, to the Richard fiasco, to the World Cup event and Ironcan, to changing the commanders numerous times, to the free Future giveaway, etc. Now their 5th attempt to fixing Rick with Annie. Instead of just fixing Rick.

    This will take out ALL the strikers except one from S7 class that will have lock for Annie's antihide!

    This decision to destroy hiding effect that was in a way carrier of this game through various commander classes as well as most combos used nowadays, makes only one calculation here imho, more money milking from us cow-players..!!!

    Taking out all strikers mostly Odin and Rick is gonna put emphasis again on speed when both players have Annie +7, first one will render second useless!

    In my case, to make things worse, I have just Odin and Rick DNA x1, so now I'm in no use of using two strikers combo anymore, unless I spend on Annie...

    Second thing, this ability of her makes place for some new commanders in a least creative and most stupidest way possible. Like the firm is run by no brainers there!!!

    Dumbest way of making place for some more spending with the autumn entry card for S7 class...!

    Good decision not to go for Lycan. I tried Lycan for a day during the no fail augmentation event. And with the game environment of multiple of multiple cursers my fleet found it harder to survive compared to when Rick was around all because he didn't hide. When he avoided being cursed the damage in one round wasn't enough to dispose of opponent
